Taste of Tai Chi Form

These are the movements in the Taste of Tai Chi Form with my own notes:

Start facing North

  1. Preparation
    1. get ready, feet together
    2. shift weight left, sink down
    3. step out right
    4. shift weight center, sink
  2. tai Chi Beginning
    1. sink shoulders to raise arms
    2. sink elbows
    3. sink wrist raise hands
    4. push down both hands, bend knees
  3. Grasp the birds tail
    1. Weight left, right T step, embrace ball on left
    2. Step out right with heel
    3. Weight right, block right
    4. invert hands
    5. Weight left, drag down
    6. Weight right, raise arms
    7. turn right, press
    8. press out, separate hands
    9. weight left, push down
    10. wieght right, push forward
  4. Single Whip
    1. Weight left, inward pivot right
    2. Turn left, outward wipe
    3. Weight right, block right, relax left hand
    4. Turn right with hook hand, left palm up
    5. Step out left, block left
    6. Bow step left, push left
  5. Wave hands like Clouds (3 times)
    1. Weight right, inward pivot left, relax hands, form "V" with feet.
    2. Weight left, block left, hands up and down
    3. counter left by turning left, invert hands
    1. Step right foot closer
    2. Weight right, block right, hands up and down
    3. counter right by turning right, invert hands
    1. Step left foot out, maintain V
    2. Weight left, block left, hands up and down
    3. counter left by turning left, invert hands
  • Brush Knee and Push

  • Hand Strums the Lute
    1. ...
  • Step back and repluse Monkey (2 times)
    1. ...
  • Step back, Deflect, Intercept, and Punch
    1. Step back left, right fist punch horizontal, left palm up. (keep weight on right) (punch up?)
    2. Weight left/back and drag
    3. hands up, Outward pivot right, deflect left, then weight right, intercept left -- with left hand (twist right)
    4. step up left, draw right fist back
    5. Left bow step, vertical punch, left palm assists.
  • Move as if Shutting the Door
    1. Left hand under right elbow
    2. Weight right, sit step. Turn palms in
    3. Open arms, palms up and out
    4. Left bow step, push to front
